Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation Elections 2017 Live Updates: Shiv Sena-BJP Face-off? The Sena has a lot riding on this poll. The most important and the richest municipal corporation in Asia, BMC is a prized trophy. Sena is not very strong across Maharashtra, so it has to have BMC in its pocket and thereafter think bigger in terms of Assembly elections too. While Uddhav Thackerayhas been virtually content in holding on to his pocket boroughs, he has not made the same kind of push across Maharashtra. But now, into politics has also come his son Aditya and he is extremely ambitious. While he is not, at least for now, what his strongman grandfather Bal Thackeray was, yet he is young and is eyeing a much wider role for the Shiv Sena that spans the entire state and not just the major cities.
